What happened at the 1970 Le Mans 24 hours?

Matra had always wanted to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans, especially with the MS40 and MS. The MS60 was to be the car that would make it possible. New innovations, but the car just wasn't powerful enough. In the 1970 Le Mans 24-hour race, all Matra cars had to retire. The MS60 did, however, win the 1000km of Paris.
