Alpine

The Alpine brand was created by Mr. Rédélé in 1955. A car enthusiast, Jean Rédélé contested his first rally in the early 1950s at the wheel of a Renault 4C. In 1962, he presented the first Alpine, the A110, at the Paris Motor Show.

The Alpine brand is basically a Renault dealership based in Dieppe created by Mr. Rédélé Jean in 1955. Passionate about cars and racing, Jean Rédélé contested his first rally in the early 1950s at the wheel of a Renault 4C. On the strength of his victories in the Alps, he named his new car company after the same mountain roads. Alpine was born. In 1962, he presented the first Alpine, the A110, at the Paris Motor Show. Three years later, Alpine joined forces with Renault to market its models. In 1971, the Alpine brand won its first European Rally Champion title. The Renault group gradually took the majority of shares in the company of Jean Rédélé, who decided to leave the ship in 1978. Mr. Rédélé, who passed away in 2007, contributed greatly to the development and promotion of French cars. A future Alpine model was announced by the CEO of Renault in 2012. This new car should be launched in 2016.
