Where do the brand's legendary colors come from? Gulf ?

Right from the start, the brand Gulf has had a strong identity. This is reflected in the orange on the gas stations. This bright color enabled motorists to spot gas stations in the distance. But when the brand moved into motorsports, the blue of the logo was far too dark. So John Wyer decided to adopt the colors of "Wilshire Oil" for his cars. A company acquired shortly before by Gulf. And so, sky blue and orange found their way onto racetracks the world over.
